Currant fruit (Ribes nigrum fructus)

A perennial shrub or tree. The currant is considered a kind of storehouse of useful substances and vitamins, since it contains the following vitamins C, B1, B2, B6, B9, E, K, P, A and D, as well as pectin, carotenoids, sugars, organic and phosphoric acid, tanning substances, essential oil, vitamins of group K, salts of phosphorus, potassium and iron.

The fruit is sour or sweet-sour and has the same odour as the leaves. It boosts immunity, is good for the heart, helps reduce acne, wrinkles, fine lines and pigment spots, and helps the eyes adapt better to night vision.

Our plantation is young and small in area , with drip irrigation in place. The trends are to expand the planted areas. The fruit is picked in July , most of which will be used to make cold-pressed organic juice and fruit flour.
