The Tale of the Wild Apple :

Once upon a time there was a bear who became very ill. She caught a cold, ran a high fever and became very irritable, even angry. She couldn’t find peace anywhere and decided to sit down to wallow under a tree, thinking it would help her at least a little.

As she lamented her fate, the bear looked up and noticed the beautiful berries of the wild apple hanging from the branches. Although she felt bad, the thought of the apples brought her some joy. “I’m here anyway, never mind that I’m sick, I can at least have a bite,” thought the bear.

Without any effort (because no one was looking) she stood up on her hind paws and started to pick the apples. She ate one, then another, and another… And unbelievably, with every apple she ate, she felt better. Her irritability disappeared, her fever dropped, and her cold seemed to melt away like snow under the sun. Besides, she got a bunch of vitamins that gave her strength and energy.

After eating well, the bear felt happy and playful. She danced under the tree and thanked the wild apple for its miraculous fruit. “Who would have thought,” she said to herself, “that the cure for all my ills was right over my head!”

From then on, every year, the bear made sure to visit her favorite wild apple tree. And each year, when the fruit ripened, she stocked up on them to stay healthy and happy through the long winter months. The bear and the wild apple became the best of friends, and the story of their friendship was told throughout the forest.
